THE DISTILLERY 

Our Story
Three of Strong Spirits began as a conversation between two good friends sipping some rum and ruminating about the things that matter most to us. Our community, camaraderie, and the joyful, unexpected adventure of making a life in Maine. 

Wouldn’t it be great if we could create and distill world-class rums that reflect those priorities right here in Portland, Maine? Unlike many lesser ideas that we've hatched over a glass, this one still made sense the next day. We've been working hard ever since to build Three of Strong and celebrate the spirit of spirits.

 

Our process
Our goal is to do things the right way, from start to finish. This starts with how we treat people. Our employees, visitors, and East Bayside neighbors are all a part of the Three of Strong community.

We use 100% organic evaporated cane syrup and molasses, yeast, and pure water from Maine’s beautiful Sebago Lake to craft our rums. We're proud to source our aged rum from a family distillery in Barranquilla, Colombia that makes rum the way we do, without any artificial flavorings or colors.

There are no shortcuts when it comes to distilling premium aged spirits, and we’re always looking for ways to make things better. Got an idea for us to improve our product or experience? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

TASTING NOTES

Although Mainers have been making rum
with molasses since the early 18th century,
we believe that Acadian is the first cane
juice rum ever produced in Maine. Grassy
and vegetal with a citrus spark, Acadian is
designed for cocktails featuring agricole
and cachaça-style rums, like ti’ punch and
the caipirinha

Acadian™ Ti' Punch Recipe

Ingredients
2 oz. Acadian™ rum

2-3 lime wedges

Sweetener (sugar or simple syrup work well!)

Steps
Squeeze limes and drop into rocks glass. Add ice and rum. Stir, adding sugar to taste. Top with fresh ice and enjoy!
