Stimulate creativity and imagination with 1,000 Kapla smooth-sanded pine building planks.

No need for glue and not a single nail, screw or snap. KAPLA Stacks are not interlocking.

Each KAPLA plank is simply placed one on top of the other and thus held in place by gravity and balance alone. The flat shape and light weight wood enhances confidence and curiosity and determination.

Part of the delight is removing one plank at a time until the whole lot comes crashing to the floor.

The simplicity of the toy makes it a perfect outlet for child's imagination. There is no telling what will get built - and destroyed, as kids delight in demolishing their own constructs.

Kapla suggests a more subtle approach - removing one plank at a time until the whole lot comes crashing down. Either way, these blocks are so much fun that often kids have to compete for access with grownups.

Unsatisfied with the possibilities of these blocks Tom van der Bruggen invented a plank based on the progressions of the uneven numbers 1:3:5. Three thicknesses for one width and five widths for one length.

This ratio between bricks and stones and beams and planks now opens a whole new way of building. With these identical planks the builder can construct with the precision of artwork and the stability of stones.

This set is ideal for individuals or group games and projects in schools and child care centres.
