We are delighted to present Bachelor Shiraz, a wine that pays homage to the rich history of the Barossa Valley and the enduring spirit of the man who once worked the very land from which this exceptional fruit is sourced. Named after Bert Kleining, a beloved bachelor who toiled on the land, this wine is a true testament to the legacy of passion and dedication.

Tasting Note: Bachelor Shiraz showcases a deep ruby red hue, hinting at the depth within. On the nose, enchanting notes of raspberry and red plum lead the way. The palate is a symphony of complexity, unveiling ripe tannins, tantalizing toasted bread, and vanilla aromas, intertwined with a delightful spicy character of cloves and white pepper.

Maturation: Aged for 22 months in a mix of 20% New French oak and 3rd and 4th fill French and American Oak Hogsheads, this wine boasts stunning oak smoothness and a rich mouthfeel, adding depth to its remarkable character.

Vineyard: Bachelor Shiraz hails from vines planted between 1951 and 2000. The single cordon spur (hand) pruned vines ensure low yield and high-grade fruit production, with each vine tended to with utmost care.

Sub Regions: Sourced from the iconic subregion of Koonunga, located at the Northern tip of the Barossa Valley, the vines thrive in ancient Red/Brown Clay loam over deep red clay, revealing the secret to the wine's concentration and structure.

Elevation: 270-290 Metres

Cellaring: While this wine is ready to be enjoyed now, its potential for aging gracefully is exceptional, with the promise of evolving beautifully until 2032. For the ultimate experience, be sure to decant and allow its true quality to shine.
