Showcasing the old-world mash bill, this American Barley Whisky is crafted entirely from malted barley.  Aged four years in a variety of previously filled French oak wine casks that once held Napa Valley wine, these barrels bestow a gentle elegance to the spirit enhancing the inherent orchard fruit and warm baking spice notes that define classic barley whisky.

The majority of miners that came to California during the Gold Rush left with about as much money as they came with. But not Sam Brannan. A genius entrepreneur and shrewd businessman, Sam cleverly plotted to make a fortune on the desperate 49ers and their demand for equipment during the Gold Rush.

One of Sam Brannan's more successful ventures in the mid 1860s, the Calistoga Distillery produced over 90,000 gallons of brandy each year. Paying homage to Sam's legacy and one of the first distilleries in California, we present six different lines of spirits that are available for sale online and at participating retailers starting January 2024, and available for tasting at the Calistoga Depot Distillery this Spring.
