Vintage Degenhart Pink Glass Gypsy Pot Toothpick Holder
Vintage glass Gypsy Pot toothpick holder by Degenhart is a pretty pink opalescent milk glass with a round bead rim, textured details and three feet. Also known as the "Witches' Pot" or "Kettle" toothpick holder, it was first introduced in 1962 and was a reproduction of a 1903 toothpick holder made by the U.S. Glass Company in Gas City, Indiana. The mould originally belonged to B&P Lamp of McMinnville, Tennessee. After a dispute, the mould was returned to its owner and Mrs. Degenhart then had a similar mould made in 1971 without the side handles (called lugs) as seen here. The Gypsy Pot was not stamped with the logo until 1972, but this particular piece is not branded. Please note that there is some residue on the inside from the remains of an old label (see photos), but it's in overall excellent vintage condition and perfect for holding toothpicks, cotton swabs, matches, cocktail picks, or makeup brushes.
Measures 2 3/8" in diameter x 2.25" tall.
