This is a blend of 2, 3 and 4 year old Bourbon, finished no less than 3 months in wine barrels which previously held several vintages of Ammunition Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon. This unique process imparts a sweetness and tannin unlike that of any other bourbon. You can smell it on the nose and see it with your eyes.

    Special mash bill of 60% Corn, 25% Wheat, 10% Rye, 5% Malted Barley.
    A smooth finish 4 years in the making.
    90 Proof (ABV 45%)

    THE DISTILLERY 

    Quality Never Misses

    While we've always been whiskey enthusiasts, crafting one of our own was a new challenge altogether. But, in typical Ammunition fashion, we dove down the rabbit hole in an effort to create something we'd be proud to share with anyone.

    It wasn't enough to create just another whiskey. From the world-class grains to the hand-crafted finished product, if it was meant to bear the Ammunition name, then it had to be truly unique.

    It took 4 years of distilling, blending, experimenting, arguing, and laughing, but Ammunition Bourbon and Rye were worth the wait.

    Our secret sauce is to finish our unique blend of whiskeys in barrels that once housed our Ammunition wines. Finishing in precise combinations of those French oak casks is critical to the depth of flavor and nuanced finish that you'll only find with both Ammunition Bourbon and Rye.

    In the true tradition of the American West we're blazing new trails, never satisfied with the status quo.

      TASTING NOTES

      This whiskey is special. Dark amber in color, you can expect notes of caramel, butterscotch with a finish of vanilla and a hint of richness courtesy of the Cabernet Sauvignon French Oak casks.

      Special mash bill of 60% Corn, 25% Wheat, 10% Rye, 5% Malted Barley.

      COCKTAILS

      Four Star Old Fashioned
      Ingredients
      2 oz. Ammunition Straight Bourbon Whiskey
      1 sugar cube (see notes for other options)
      2-3 dashes Angostura bitters
      splash warm water
      orange peel for garnish
      Directions
      In a double rocks glass, muddle the sugar cube or sugar with Angostura bitters and a small splash of warm water until dissolved.
      If using simple syrup, swirl with bitters in a double rocks glass.
      Add whiskey and ice (preferably an oversized cube) and stir well.
      Garnish with an orange peel.
      Recipe Note
      If you don't have sugar cubes on hand, a teaspoon of sugar or a heaping 1/4 ounce of simple syrup will do the trick in a pinch.
