• 80% Cabernet Sauvignon
• 20% Pinot Noir
• Small amounts of naturally occurring
& added sulfites — nothing else.

Brilliant translucent ruby through and through.  Hibiscus, tea rose, pomegranate, and Maraschino cherry with subtle cinnamon, clove, and English lavender.  Light body and crisp acidity meet lush fruit and spices. Intense flavors make for a sublime lingering finish.

ABOUT THE WINERY

HOUSE OF BROWN is a second label offspring of Brown Estate, Napa Valley’s first Black-owned estate winery. As our brand has attracted a terrifically diverse consumer base over the last 25+ years, a vibrant community and dynamic culture have coalesced in our ecosystem. HOUSE OF BROWN, created to expand access to the Brown wine experience, is an homage to our Come one, come all (come correct!) ethos.

About Brown Estate 

Established the Brown Estate label officially in 1996 when we harvested what would become our first bottling of Brown Zin. In January 2000 we debuted our first three vintages at the annual ZAP (Zinfandel Advocates & Producers) Grand Tasting in San Francisco. Fast forward to August 2021… when we bottled our 25th vintage.

In the meantime our business has grown slowly but surely as our brand has gained increasingly broad exposure to an extraordinarily diverse audience thanks to word of mouth, both IRL and on social media. To make our wines and hospitality experience more accessible, in April 2017 we opened our Brown Downtown tasting room on the resurgent First Street corridor in the heart of downtown Napa.

     

    TASTING NOTES

    Eye: Brilliant translucent ruby through and through.

    Nose: Hibiscus, tea rose, pomegranate, and Maraschino cherry with subtle cinnamon, clove, and English lavender.

    Palate: Light body and crisp acidity meet lush fruit and spices. Intense flavors make for a sublime lingering finish.

    Pairing inspirations: Avocado & beet salad, tomato tart, hoisin pork buns, trout & watercress fritters, chicken Caesar salad, French onion soup.
