Made from 100% wheat grown on the plains of western Kansas, this vodka is pot-distilled and then run through a custom column set-up, giving it a fuller mouthfeel than your average vodka.

Dodge City’s legacy was built on the ashes of the campfire and the footprints of a bar, and we’re proud to be continuing that legacy here at Boot Hill Distillery. 

With a craftsman’s eye for the highest quality ingredients, grain grown ourselves, and a dedication to ethically sourcing ingredients we can’t produce in-house, we bring new meaning to sustainability and transparency in craft distilling.

We’re proud to be part of the spiritual revolution of Dodge City, western Kansas, and the Old West.

OUR PROCESS
Boot Hill Distillery is owned by Roger and Hayes Kelman. This father and son team plant, grow and harvest every single grain that Boot Hill Distillery uses to craft our world-class spirits.

Our spirits are truly “from soil to sip.” From the moment the seed goes into the soil to the moment you pour our spirits into your glass, we’ve had full control over the final product, ensuring that every single bottle that you purchase from us is the highest-quality spirit available anywhere in the world.

Each of our spirits is distilled in 500 gallon batches, carefully crafted from growth to harvest to milling to mashing to fermentation to distilling to bottling.

We utilize a custom-crafted pot still/two column setup to ensure that every spirit is crafted for maximum drinkability, while still being a wholly unique product of Dodge City.

OUR BUILDING
We’re built on history.

Right here. Underneath your feet. This is the original Boot Hill Cemetery. From 1873 until 1878, Dodge City’s gunfighters, scofflaws, and soiled doves were interred when they met their unceremonious end.

In 1878 the bodies were moved to the municipal cemetery, and Dodge City’s first multi-room schoolhouse was erected. Known as the Third Ward school, it served the students of Dodge City until 1927. As Dodge City’s population grew and new schools were built, the Third Ward had served its purpose. The building was razed and planning began for what would become the Municipal Building - where we currently stand today.

When the building opened in 1929, it housed City Hall, municipal courtroom, judge’s chambers, jail, fire department and police department. Over the years it has also housed the Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, and charities.

We’re proud to be continuing the legacy of Boot Hill and Dodge City.

Hayes spent his formative years in bars searching for the perfect Manhattan. Which explains a lot now that we think about it... As a fifth generation farmer, Hayes has always looked for new manners of vertical integration and new uses for the grain he grows.

 

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Sweet and spicy that gives way to a dense, creamy smell.

Neat: Malty and soft right up front, with a blast of black pepper heat right in the middle. Quickly finishes off clean on the palate. 

On the Rocks: The initial cream flavors deepens, with a soft, malty flavor spreading across the entire palate. Peppery notes dissipate, but linger on the end.
