Dermatix Silicone Scar Gel 15g

Dermatix can be used for the treatment of scars resulting from surgery, burns, and other injuries.

It has been shown to flatten, soften and smooth scars, relieve the pain, itching and discomfort of scars as well as reduce any associated redness.
It is often recommended as a scar treatment by dermatologists and plastic surgeons.
Available in gel formulation, or in silicone sheets, which come as both clear and fabric in style. Can be used on keloid scars.

It is a topical silicone gel for scar prevention in freshly healed wounds and reduction of prominent immature scars.

The thin Dermatix Clear Silicone Sheet provides a combination of transparency, flexibility and adhesiveness. It’s transparency offers minimal visibility for the wearer, for example when applied to exposed body parts.
The fabric and clear sheets can be washed with mild soap and water, making them reusable and easy to care for.

1. Clean the Scar Area

  • Wash the scar and surrounding skin with mild soap and water, then pat dry gently.
  • Ensure the area is completely dry before applying the gel.

2. Apply a Thin Layer of Dermatix® Gel

  • Squeeze a small amount (pea-sized or a thin film) onto your fingertip.
  • Gently massage the gel onto the scar in a circular motion until fully absorbed.
  • Avoid rubbing too hard—let the gel form a transparent layer over the scar.

3. Let It Dry (Do Not Rinse Off)

  • Allow the gel to dry for 3–5 minutes before covering with clothing or bandages.
  • Dermatix works best when left on the skin, so do not wash it off immediately.

4. Frequency of Application

  • Apply twice daily (morning and night) for optimal results.
  • Consistency is key—use it for at least 60–90 days (or longer for older scars).

5. Additional Tips for Best Results

  • Start using after the wound has fully closed (not on open wounds).
  • For older scars, treatment may take longer (3–6 months).
  • Avoid applying on broken or infected skin.
  • For keloids or raised scars, combine with gentle massage to help flatten them.
  • Protect the scar from sun exposure (use sunscreen over the gel if needed).

When Will You See Results?

Dermatix® scar gel comes in a plastic tube with a sealed nozzle. Here’s how to open it properly:

  1. Twist Off the Cap – Unscrew the white plastic cap counterclockwise (lefty-loosey).
  2. Check the Seal – The tube has a protective plastic seal over the nozzle.
  3. Cut the tip – Remove the small plastic tip with a scissors.
